I'm Jordi. I studied software engineering in Barcelona, wrote C# for a parcel network and then for PwC, and spent most of my career in London building for startups. I live in Mexico now and work remotely.

Over 13 years the work has moved from backend services to React and React Native apps, to whole products, and lately to running a small studio where coding agents do much of the typing and I make the decisions and review what ships. The constant is that I like being close to the problem: I can work at the level of architecture and still open the editor and ship the thing. I am most useful when something is half idea and half system and somebody has to decide what to build first.

I like the unglamorous parts: the migration that has to be reversible, the test that proves the other tests ran, the README a stranger can follow, the “Not done” list that tells the truth. I would rather ship a boring system that lasts than a clever one that needs me to explain it.

I work in English, Spanish and Catalan. I also run Astral Studio with Nina, a small studio for founder-led businesses that need brand, design and software together. This site is the other half: me, as an engineer you can hire directly.
